59 años siendo

Channel 9 Resistencia, one of the most iconic media outlets in northeastern Argentina, celebrated 59 years of uninterrupted broadcasting. Founded on August 17, 1966, the channel has been a witness and protagonist of the history of Chaco and Corrientes for almost six decades.

In an exclusive interview with N9 Central, Alejandro Rubiolo, current Director of Channel 9, shared his reflections on the station's significance for the region. "Channel 9 is the channel of the people, the channel of the region," stated Rubiolo, who has worked at the institution for 23 years.

The director emphasized the importance of maintaining the channel's regional identity: "When Channel 9 returned to Chaco, we did so with the idea of giving it a northeastern imprint," he explained. This vision is reflected in the decision to revive the jaguar as the channel's mascot, a symbol that connects with the local fauna and culture.

Rubiolo also spoke about the challenges of maintaining a media outlet in the interior of the country. "It's a constant struggle," he admitted. "The premise is to work hard with new technologies, always thinking one step ahead." This philosophy has allowed the channel to survive various economic crises and technological changes.

The Linke Group, owner of Channel 9 for two years, has been instrumental in this evolution. "The Linke Group was founded back in 1988-89 with the development of cable in Argentina," Rubiolo explained, highlighting the diversification the business group has experienced, which today ventures into areas such as agriculture, livestock, and, more recently, entertainment.

Looking to the future, Channel 9 plans to continue innovating. "We plan to produce a film," Rubiolo revealed, noting the channel's expansion into new content formats.

Rubiolo concluded the interview with a message of gratitude: "We are small actors who don't own the screen, but rather we walk this path. The most beautiful thing is the journey in life, and we are the protagonists of a story that is not ours but rather belongs to the people on the other side, who accompany us, who watch us."

With 59 years of history and looking to the future, Channel 9 Resistencia continues to be a pillar of communication and culture in northeastern Argentina, adapting to the times while maintaining its regional essence.
